Todd Fahnestock

Todd Fahnestock

Todd Fahnestock has been writing since he was seventeen years old. He grew up on the Weis & Hickman’s Dragonlance Chronicles, Piers Anthony’s Xanth series, Terry Brooks’s Shannara trilogy, and Lloyd Alexander’s The Book of Three. He is the winner of the New York Public Library’s Books for the Teen Age Award, the Colorado Authors League Award for Writing Excellence, and he was a finalist for The Colorado Book Award. His Tower of the FourThreadweavers and The Whisper Prince high fantasy series have all been Amazon bestsellers.

This past year, he has been working the comic con circuit, because while awards are wonderful to get, his favorite part of the job is talking face-to-face with fans.

He is an old school Marvel Comics geek and a modern-day MCU fanatic of the 1st order. He can quote the first Avengers movie start to finish, regularly recites the pithy one-liners from all twelve episodes of the Firefly, and he believes Joss Whedon was put on this planet to show us all how to write dialogue. The best things he’s watched recently are Free Guy and the documentary The Movies That Made Us on Netflix.

He is a 2nd Dan black belt in Taekwondo, spends his days writing, wrestling with Galahad the Weimaraner, making omelets for breakfast (or lunch), and pretending he still has some influence on his brilliant teenagers.

Todd writes fantasy stories because they made an impact on his life when he was fourteen, an escapist alternative to becoming a self-destructive vandal after his parents divorced. He figures if even one of his stories can do the same for someone else, it’s the most noble calling in the world.

And, y’know, because he likes to spend time with heroes, swords, dragons, and magic. That may have something to do with it, too.
